Sea Point is the lively seaside suburb on the western flanks of Lion's Head and Signal Hill.

Three bedrooms, oodles of space and sunny rooms everywhere. Add to this a large private garden, off-street parking and a bio-fuel fireplace in the cosy dining room and you have ... well, home away from home. The Firs is a luxury apartment block a short distance down the road from Penrose Place. Location is everything, and Penrose Place is at the centre of the universe. Located in one of Cape Town's most sought-after residential areas, you'll have the mountains behind you, the Atlantic Ocean in front of you, and all the delights that Cape Town offers in every direction. Penrose is the name given to this charming structure when it was built by the original owners. Characterful sprung wooden floors, high ceilings, and thick walls to keep you at optimum temperature throughout the year. Well equipped, and the ideal launch pad for your holiday adventures.
Looking for more interesting names? Take a hike and find the endemic Silver Tree on Lion's Head behind you. Table Mountain is covered in fynbos, which consists of thousands of unique plant species. See a dassie (rock hyrax) on the mountain! The dassie (weighing only 4 to 5 kilograms) is closely related to the elephant. More amazing facts about Table Mountain here.
The must-visit Clifton Beaches just to the left, everything Cape Town has to the offer to the right and a step away from the road that will take you all the way to the south-western-most point of the continent: the Cape of Good Hope.
Magnificent as the Cape is, load-shedding – scheduled electrical interruptions – are part and parcel of the easy life we live here. While we don't let it bother us too much, and inconveniently timed electrical outage can be less than optimal. HERE'S THE SKINNY: Penrose Place has off-grid power! Beat the load-shed blues during load-shedding and run the lights, television, hear the fridge hum, charge your mobile device and boil the kettle compliments of our off-grid power system. Woohoo! Like any off-grid system some restrictions do apply: run only one power-thirsty device (like the kettle, toaster or coffee machine) at a time, and don't use the microwave oven, stove, washing machine or tumble dryer during load-shedding. But hey, your little holiday perch will be all lit up and your drinks will be ice-cold!
The home is filled with charm. From the warm entrance hall through the charming rooms to nestling in the garden with a sparkling sunset cocktail. Thank you, this super venue greatly enriched our stay.

The flat is really awesome. It has everything you could think of. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful as well. The flat is opposite a primary school, and the area feels very safe. A huge plus is the garage because street parking can be difficult. I can definitely recommend staying here, whether short or long term. I'm looking forward to the next time.
